Birds of a feather

Monday, 9-5-11

When I woke up from being sick on Saturday I discovered that Idalia had brought home a new bird. It was a half moon conure just like my bird, Chiquita. Idalia had bought the bird so Chiquita would have a friend. We weren’t sure if they’d get along so they started out in separate cages. But they seem to be getting along fine so far. They like to play with each other and also clean each other. We’re not sure if one is a boy and one is a girl or if they’re both the same gender. If one of them ever lays eggs then I guess we’ll know. Since we didn’t know the gender there was much debate as to what we should call the new bird. We ultimately decided the new bird’s name is Francisco Melissa. So we now have Chenita Chiquita Lorena Lundberg and Francisco Melissa Coreas Luna. I think they’re going to be best friends.

Francisco is on the left, Chiquita is on the right

Francisco is a little bigger and his lower beak is whiter
than Chiquita's. Chiquita's feet are lighter than Francisco's.

Bird kisses

Snuggles

So happy together

After Francisco (left) took a little bath

Francisco is pretty cute! They look so similar. I'm so glad that they get along so well. They will probably also cause twice as much trouble.
